Casey Parsons

As a Senior Immigration Attorney at Ramirez-Smith Law, Casey Parsons brings unmatched depth, innovation, compassion, and courage to every case. Working alongside managing partners Nikki Ramirez-Smith, Neal F. Dougherty, and Talia D. Burnett, Casey leads some of the firm’s most complex immigration matters — from high-stakes federal litigation to humanitarian relief for families in crisis.

Casey’s practice focuses on complex immigration litigation and federal court advocacy, where they have filed numerous habeas corpus petitions to challenge unlawful detentions and ICE raids that devastate immigrant communities. Their litigation work has led to the release of detained clients and meaningful judicial oversight in cases involving government overreach. Casey has also represented individuals facing deportation, secured legal status for family members of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents, and helped victims of crime and trafficking obtain immigration relief, including U visas and T visas.

Before joining Ramirez-Smith Law, Casey co-founded The Wrest Collective in Boise, Idaho — a groundbreaking nonprofit legal and social cooperative organization providing affordable, community-driven representation in First Amendment, criminal defense, civil rights, and immigration cases. They have served as Lead Eviction Defense Attorney with Idaho Legal Aid Services in the Treasure Valley, advocating for vulnerable tenants and survivors of domestic violence. They’ve acted as an intake specialist and attorney for the ACLU of Idaho, where they worked on constitutional and immigration issues, including ICE detainers and access to healthcare in prisons during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the Legal Observer Coordinator for the National Lawyers Guild in Idaho, they provided community know your rights trainings and trained teams monitoring police conduct at protests, empowering organizers and protecting civil rights in moments of public action.

Casey exemplifies the power of rigorous advocacy grounded in empathy. Whether freeing detained clients, defending families from deportation, or mentoring young advocates, Casey embodies the mission of Ramirez-Smith Law: to fight fearlessly for immigrant communities and the rule of law.
